Additional Paula Deen: It Ain't All About the Cookin' Information

You may think you know the butter-loving, finger-licking, joke-cracking, queen of melt-in-your-mouth Southern cuisine. You may have even heard some version of her Cinderella story (a single mom with two teenage sons started a brown-bag lunch business with $200 and wound up with a thriving restaurant business, a fairy-tale second marriage, and wildly popular television shows), but you have never heard the intimate details of her often bumpy road to fame and fortune.

Courageously honest, downright inspiring, and just a little bit saucy, Paula shares the highs and the lows of her life in her inimitable charming and irreverent style. She talks about her childhood, the difficulty of her first marriage, and how the death of her beloved parents precipitated a debilitating agoraphobia that crippled her for years. But even when the going got tough, Paula never lost the good grace and sense of humor that would eventually help carry her to success and stardom.

Whether she's telling tales of good times or bad, Paula Deen speaks as frankly and intimately in this memoir as few women in the public eye have ever dared. Her story is proof that the good, old-fashioned American dream is alive and kicking, and there is still such a thing as a real-life happy ending.

What Customers Say About Paula Deen: It Ain't All About the Cookin':

This book takes you through her early life right up to the present time with Michael. Very interesting book. Enjoy this book as much as I did and try some of her receipes as well. She is a down to earth person and personality. Really enjoyed reading about her early life and her ups and downs in the resturant business. Very good role model for anyone wanting to start in the resturant business.

As the title of her books says, "It Ain't Al About the Cookin'." If you like her television show, you'll enjoy this book. While reading this Paula Deen book, I got the feeling that I was there in the room with her -- it's so personal and conversational. Here she entertains on paper just as well as she entertains on television.

If you want to be inspired, or just feel good, read this book. It's truly a story of the "American Dream". By the way, I watch her show now too. I wasn't a fan of Paula Deen's show, but heard she had an interesting life, and thought I would purchase this book. After reading the book I have a tremendous amount of respect for her, and all she accomplished.

I say Kudos to you Paula for pulling yourself up from your boot straps and making a name for yourself you deserve it. After what her family has been through it is no wonder they appreciate the little things in life. I loved reading this book. I never knew how interesting her life really was.

EVERYONE who loves paula has to read it. I was shocked at some of the stuff she put in this book. I am giving it 5 stars. I have to say that this is the ONLY biography from someone that I have TOTALLY enjoyed. I could not put it down.
